The name Picasso is
inextricably linked with Barcelona, the city where the Malagan artist
spent his adolescence and young adulthood. This makes the Museu Picasso
an essential visit for anyone wanting to find out about the artist's
formative years. This exceptional museum, which is housed in five
Gothic mansions, features his early works and those of the Blue Period,
and contains the extraordinary Las Meninas series, Picasso's highly
personal homage to Velazquez's masterpiece. The museum also focuses
on another interesting facet of this unique and innovative artist:
his skill as a ceramicist.
