GALICIA Information - Natural Parks: LANDRO River

LOCATION: In the region of A Marina Occidental (Lugo), municipalities of Ourol and Viveiro.

SURFACE AREA: 127 hectares.

From the vantage point of San Rogue (375 m), nice panoramic views of the ria of Viveiro can be admired, where the sea and the mountains are the main elements of a green and blue ecstasy. Before becoming a ria and being canalised, flowing into the beach of Covas, on the left, and the port of Celeiro, on the right, the river Landro covers the narrow internal valley with a humid terrain. On the final riverbanks, it keeps a strong personality, forged from its source in the humid O Xistral Mountains. (See also Souto da Retorta).
