LOCATION: In A Marina Central (Lugo), coastal municipalities of Barreiros and Foz, and interior municipalities of Lourenza and Mondonedo. SURFACE AREA: 643 hectares. The entire ria lies on the intertidal stretch, with mud and sand plains of great biological richness. A sandy bank closes the estuary of the Masma on the beach of O Altar. The beaches are beautiful, and fauna abounds. Among gallery forests, the Masma soars towards the episcopal city of Mondoñedo. In addition to other visits to monuments, including Vilanova de Lourenza, it is possible to apply for a permit to see the caves of Rei Cintolo in Mondoñedo. |
