GALICIA Information - COMING
TO GALICIA |

|
COMING TO GALICIA is easy, convenient
and enjoyable from any point of Spain or Europe. The three international
airports of Lavacolla (Santiago), Peinador (Vigo) and Alvedro (A Coruna)
are linked by means of a fast motorway and can take the traveller
quickly to his final destination without delay. Those who want not
only to arrive, but also to enjoy the journey, may choose the national
road that best suits them: the A-6 from Madrid to A Coruna; the A-52,
from Benavente to Vigo via Ourense; and the N-634 which comes into
Ribadeo from Asturias. From Portugal, the motorway comes from the
Algarve through Oporto and Oporto into Galicia through Tui, where
it merges with the motorway that links A Coruna and Ferrol with Vigo.
Apart from motorways and other main roads, Galicia has a dense secondary
road network. The layout and surface of the roa,ds have recently been
improved to allow travellers to reach every corner the country, enjoying
the drive at the same time. An effort has also been made to provide
rest areas on the main tourist
routes and these now amount to two hundred. Traditional means of transport,
by train and coach, arrive from different points of Spain. The rail
way joins the provincial capital cities with their main towns, and
public bus services reach every little village. Whether you come by
land, sea or air, using any means of transport, GALICIA AWAITS YOU
with many a surprise. You will be mesmerized, engaiolado, as we say,
by this meiga (bewitching) land and when you leave, you will always
have something left to see. |
