Gallery 2 at the Palau de la Virreina is used for thematic or individual exhibitions which seek to examine in greater depth the relationship between society and contemporary art. THE FIRST EROS Africa, America and Oceania 9th July - 31st October Organised by the Museu d'Historia de la Ciutat, this exhibition looks at eroticism in ancient cultures. Exhibits from major European and American collections. WAR POSTERS 1936 - 1939 17th December - 20th February 2005 Exhibition showcasing some 200 posters from the Spanish Civil War, together with a selection of photographs and publications which illustrate the political and artistic climate of the time. In association with the Fundaci6n Pablo Iglesias and the Cfrculo de Sellas Artes, Madrid. ANTONI MIRO March - June 2005 This exhibition, devoted to the fashion designer Antoni Mir6, brings to a close the series of exhibitions entitled Contemporary Modems, which began in 1997. These exhibitions have brought to the Palau de la Virreina the work and personal universe of key contemporary creative figures.
