Vil-la Joana is the name of
the 19th-century farmhouse where the poet Jacint Verdaguer spent
the last days of his life. Dedicated to the memory of one of the
leading authors of the Catalan RenaixenQa period, the visit to the
house also shows us what life was like in Vallvidrera at the beginning
of the 20th century. The museum comprises two sections: the "sentimental"
section, featuring period furniture; and the "literary"
section, with an exhibition about Verdaguer's life and literary
career. The museum is located in Collserola Park in the heart of
the countryside, yet is within easy access of Barcelona city centre.
