The Fundacio Antoni Tapies opened in 1990 and is housed in the former
Montaner i Sim6 publishing house, designed by the modernista architect
Domimech i Montaner. A magnificent setting to showcase the most comprehensive
collection of works by the great Catalan artist. The Foundation combines
periodic exhibitions of works by Tapies with the organisation of temporary
exhibitions, symposiums, lectures, film seasons and the production
of specialised publications. The fa~ade of the building is crowned
by the original sculpture, Cloud and Chair, dating from 1990, which
lends it an added element of surprise. COLLECTION
Selection from the holdings
Until 31st October
A selection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, books and engravings
by Tapies himself, reveals his myriad artistic facets.
