The Centre d'lnterpretació is located inside one of the gatehouses
of the Park Guell, and helps us gain a greater understanding of Gaudí's
work: a prodigious synthesis of architecture and nature. The park
was initially designed as an Englishstyle residential garden city
(hence the name "Park") and was donated to the municipal
council in 1923 for public use. Besides allowing visitors access to
the caretaker's house, which reveals the unusual layout of the floors,
the centre also displays the original park project and provides information
about the different walks around the park and the types of flora which
characterise this "green lung" in Barcelona.
