The Museu Maritim is a museum of unquestionable importance and interest.
It couldn't be housed in a finer landmark: the medieval shipyards,
the Reials Drassanes, a unique example of Gothic Civil architecture.
Its exhibits take us on a journey through the history of seafaring
with spectacular recreations of authentic maritime settings. Important
exhibits include a full-scale replica of the royal galley used by
Juan of Austria at the Battle of Lepanto. The museum displays extend
to the waters of the harbour, where the schooner Santa Eulillia is
moored. This threemasted sailing ship is 46 metres long and dates
from 1918. TITANIC
Splendour and tragedy
Until the first fortnight in October
This touring exhibition includes original objects salvaged from the
bottom of the sea and recreations, in an underwater space, which will
tell us the true story of the "ship of dreams". Presented
by the Museu Maritim and Titanic Centenary 2012.
