This innovatively designed, interactive museum has a clearly educational
vocation. It is housed in part of the Palau de Mar, the former commercial
warehouse building in Barcelona harbour. The museum was created in
1996 with the aim of disseminating the history of Catalonia, from
its roots to the present day. The museum layout is structured chronologically
in eight areas set out on different floors, and includes authentic
recreations of historical settings, as well as audiovisuals and computer-generated
exhibits. The bar on the top floor boasts magnificent views of the
old harbour, the Port Veil.
SALVADOR DALI-FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA
The persistence of memory
19th October - 31st January
This exhibition is based on the friendship which sprung up between
Lorca and Dali, and examines the influence they had on one another.
