This highly interesting museum is located in the Gothic Quarter, next
to the Cathedral, and will appeal to art lovers everywhere. Its founder,
the sculptor Frederlc Mares, assembled an extremely valuable collection
of works and objects throughout his life, which he donated to the
city. The museum comprises two major sections: one focusing on sculpture
and spanning the preRoman period to the early 20th century, and the
Gabinet del Coleccionista, which showcases everyday objects from the
19th century. The museum also displays sculptures by Frederic Mares
himself and his collections of paintings and furniture. A splendid
opportunity to enjoy a journey through our charming artistic past.
