"La Caixa" Foundation's new science
museum in Barcelona is designed to stimulate the scientific knowiedge
and opinion of the community. Located at the same address as the previous
museum, CosmoCaixa devotes over 33,000 m2 of exhibition space to science.
The permanent exhibitions gallery, which is divided into thematic
areas based on four types of matter (inert, living, intelligent and
civilised) traces the history of matter, from the creation of the
universe to the present day. The Geological Wall and the Flooded Forest
are two of the flagship exhibits at the new museum. The first allows
you to interpret the world's geology, while the second is the first
flooded Amazonian forest on display inside a science museum. CosmoCaixa's
range of attractions is complemented with workshops, courses, lectures,
shows in the Planetarium and a whole host of workshops and spaces
designed to bring science alive for the youngest children.

are being exhibited outside the Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles
in Brussels.
