Housed in the former Convent of Sant Agustf, this delicious museum
provides an insight into the culture of chocolate from the origins
of cocoa to its arrival in Europe in the 16th century. The eight sections
of the permanent exhibition explain the myths and realities of chocolate,
which has both medicinal and aphrodisiac properties and a nutritive
value. Barcelona's Provincial Confectionery Guild organises tasting
workshops and chocolate figure-making classes in the museum's atelier.
DALI's UNIVERSE...AND CHOCOLATE TOOK SHAPE
Until March 2005
Daliesque icons adopt the shape and taste of chocolate, in a tribute
to the fantastic imagination of the painter from the Emporda region.
