Travel back in time and discover the roots of Catalonia's history
at the Museu d' Arqueologia de Catalunya. This amazing journey begins
with the emergence of prehistoric man and explains his evolution until
medieval times. The museum'scoliections include pieces from the main
settlements and archaeoiogical finds in Catalonia, as well as the
other cultures from the rest of the Iberian Peninsula and the Mediterranean.
The museum is located in Montju'ic Park and housed in the former Palace
of Graphic Arts which was built for the 1929 International Exhibition.
THE OUTSET OF INEQUALITIES
The Neolithic revolution

The exhibition invites us to reflect on when, how and why social inequalities
appeared. Highly valuable archaeological objects trace the origins
of these ineQualities to the Neolithic revolution, some 8,000 years
ago, when cattle raising and agriculture were adopted as means of
subsistence.
ANCIENT GLASS
Fragility across the ages
From November
A journey through the finest surviving examples of ancient glass in
Catalonia: extremely fragile pieces which have survived 2,500 years
of history. OPENING TIMES
